Don't need advances right now? Canceling your Vola Finance membership stops recurring charges. Here's how to do it cleanly.
Before you cancel
- Repay any outstanding advance
- Note your billing date so you cancel before the next charge
- Screenshot your current membership details
How to cancel
- Open the app and go to settings / membership.
- Select cancel or downgrade and follow the prompts.
- If the option isn't visible, email Vola Finance support from the address on your account and request cancellation in writing.
- Save the confirmation email or screenshot.
If you're still being charged
Contact Vola Finance support with your confirmation. If unresolved, you can revoke the app's bank access through Plaid or your bank and dispute unauthorized charges with your bank. You can also file a complaint with the CFPB at consumerfinance.gov.
Cancel vs. downgrade
If you still want occasional access, downgrading to a lower tier may cost less than canceling and re-subscribing later. If you don't expect to need an advance for several months, canceling is usually the better value.
What happens to your data after canceling
Canceling a membership doesn't automatically delete your account or data. If you want your data removed, ask Vola Finance support for account deletion and review its privacy policy for retention details. You can also disconnect Vola Finance from your bank via Plaid's consumer portal.
Common cancellation mistakes
- Deleting the app instead of canceling. Removing the app doesn't stop the subscription.
- Canceling with an open advance. Repay first to avoid complications.
- No proof. Always keep a dated confirmation.
Coming back later
Your repayment history may still help if you return. Before rejoining, review the current tier prices on the fees & membership page and in the app.
Cancellation timeline
| When | What to do |
|---|---|
| 5+ days before billing | Repay any open advance and screenshot your membership details |
| 3 days before billing | Cancel in the app and save the confirmation |
| Billing date | Check your bank app — no new membership charge should appear |
| After a week | If charged, contact support with your confirmation attached |
Should you cancel or pause?
If you expect to need an advance again within a month or two, downgrading may cost less than canceling and rejoining. If your emergency fund now covers small gaps, canceling stops the recurring cost entirely. Revisit the decision every few months.
A cancellation request you can send
